One Emergency Repair That Prevented Over $100,000 in Losses

In the industrial water treatment field, a service provider’s capability is often reflected more in its response speed and problem-solving ability during equipment failures than in the products themselves. In April this year, the ultrapure water system at a large food and beverage group we serve suffered a sudden breakdown. The failure manifested as an abnormal spike in the conductivity of the reverse osmosis permeate and a sharp increase in interstage pressure differential, putting the entire filling line at risk of shutdown. The client was extremely anxious as a result.
Although the failure occurred on a weekend evening, our engineers arrived on site within 40 minutes of receiving the service call. The team did not blindly replace parts; instead, they drew on historical operating data, conducted sectional sampling and analysis, performed borescope inspections, and carried out a systematic investigation that lasted until 2:00 a.m. They ultimately pinpointed the root cause: one RO membrane element had suffered severe biofouling, while a pre-treatment UV sterilization lamp was approaching the end of its service life, and its declining performance had not been detected in time.
Mr. Liu, Manager of the Engineering Department, later commented on the emergency repair: “This equipment failure occurred suddenly and at a critical moment. Fortunately, TJN’s after-sales response was prompt and the engineer’s diagnosis extremely precise, which helped us avoid a full-line shutdown that would have lasted at least two days, saving us over $100,000 in losses. Now, whenever a peer asks me about water treatment equipment, I tell them: ‘When choosing a brand, you must look at their response speed and problem-solving ability after a failure occurs.’ You have proven exactly that through your actions.”
The emergency repair was not the end. Subsequently, we optimized the client’s operation and maintenance procedures free of charge, adding provisions for periodic shock disinfection and UV intensity monitoring, and integrated the system into our remote operation and maintenance platform to enable early warning of parameter anomalies. This kind of partnership-based service—addressing not just the symptoms but the root cause—is the very foundation upon which we have earned our clients’ long-term trust.
